As many of you know Ron came to us with Glynis and Lily, he is there brother and was very skittish. After Glynis had Madeleine we realised there was no boar for Ron so we got Harry for him! The partnership lasted 8 months, Harry is going through the teenage phase so he was always mounting Ron and in the end Ron snapped!

We seperated and Ron was neutered. There was space with Glynis, Madeleine and Tinkerbell so I thought I'd give it a go! Well, two weeks ago he went to live with the girls and he is like a different character! He lets the girls come to the bars when I am dishing out food, he is happy to wait his turn but he is much happier. I think from day one he always wanted to be with Glynis and treats her more like a wife than a sister!

So I wondered have you ever had a guinea pig that came out of his/her shell when paired with a new friend?

Yep. Weeble who was like very like Ron in the skittish stakes. She got better with Tait but since they've joined the girls she's transformed to the point she was laid out in the middle of the hutch in the typical kidney bean shape about 3" from Lark (who was also laid out) & she didn't run away when I went to the hutch & the best bit is she now wheeks with the rest of them :D

After Farquhar died, Matilda her cage companion seemed to withdraw. She just sat in the centre of the cage and didnt even run when I picked her up. I adopted Lady Penelope soon after and Matilda came out of her shell again. It was lovely to see this little piggie who was obviously affected by the death of her companion, come round again. Matilda made it clear who was the boss from the start, but dotes on LAdy P and regularly grooms her..
